Becoming a Member of NPPC

Have you been searching for a church to call home?  Are you interested in becoming a member at New Providence?  Check out the steps below to see how you can begin your journey…

Step 1

Come for a Visit!

Come and visit us for worship or during the week, when we are open.  We are happy to answer any questions you may have, and would love to get your contact information so that we can stay in touch and let you know what is going on in the life of the Church.

Step 2

Join the Inquirers’ Class

In our Inquirers’ class, you will have the opportunity to learn about our church, our denomination, Reformed Theology and worship, and all of the opportunities to love, serve, and grow as a member of the congregation.  Class sessions are often taught be members of the Pastoral staff, so you will have an opportunity to get to know them better.  As a part of the class, you will also have the chance to meet other people who are also new to the church, as well as current congregation members.

Inquirers’ classes are offered several times each year, last for four weeks and are held on Sunday mornings from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel.

Step 3

Be received by the Session through

letter of transfer or

personal profession of faith

After you have finished the Inquirers’ class, you will be given the opportunity to come before the Session to give a profession of faith.  After being received by the Session, you will be received by the Congregation during a service of worship, during which you will be asked the constitutional questions of faith, as required by the Book of Order.  Then you will be formally welcomed as New Members!
